Ray Sette's fascination for Astrology and the metaphysical began in his teenage years while searching for a deeper understanding of himself and the universe around him, but his actual study of the stars and their
influence, or, more accurately, guidance of life's possibilities, didn't take off until his university days.
While working toward his Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at New Jersey City University, Ray took an interest in psychology and the human condition. His thirst for answers, or more precisely, the
knowledge to know what to question, spurred him on to eventually study the discipline as a minor.
By 1985, Ray had moved beyond psychology and into parapsychology and the metaphysical when he began studying Tarot. By graduation, he
had added Astrology to his list of studies. Once graduated, he began freelancing and eventually working full-time in graphic arts, but his heart and mind yearned for more. That's when Ray found Silva.
Ray, who turned to the Silva Method with a deep desire to make his
life better, completed the basic lecture series in 1988. Though a decent student in college, Ray always had a difficult time maintaining focus, remembering what he learned, and applying it. He felt he had to work
twice as hard as everyone around him. He found the Silva Mind Development techniques to be a great asset to both his concentration in work and focus on his life. His outlook on life and living had changed.
He was thinking in a different way now. Suddenly, life was more interesting. He found opportunities everywhere. For the first time in his young life, he wasn't just existing, shuffling from one moment to
another; he was living. He was alive! And every precious moment was worth living, exploring through and beyond all those unopened doors!
His interest and study of Astrology grew rapidly. And he found the
focus he developed from Silva helped him not only learn Astrology at a deeper level, but he could more accurately apply what he'd learned. Over the next few years, he continued to take classes with his Silva
Method teacher, Dr. Ginger Grancognolo, which included metaphysics, self-development and energy balancing. With a PhD in education and Psych-Orientology, her classes helped to mentally discipline Ray to prepare him for what lay ahead.
Though originally studying Astrology and Tarot on his own, Ray eventually turned to several well-regarded teachers for more detailed instruction. Once he began studying with Stephen Sinopoli, of the
Academy of Astrology, Ray knew he would practice Tarot and Astrology professionally. He had a calling, and everything up to this point in his life had prepared him to answer it.
In 1990, he joined the American Federation of Astrologers and began
practicing his gifts professionally. He excelled with his practice, but was convinced that in order to expand his abilities, he must continue with his studies to achieve both personal and professional growth. Ray
began further private astrological study with Mildred Damiani (who crossed-over several years ago), and had the special opportunity to take Advanced Silva Method classes with the late Jose Silva, the
creator of the world-renowned program. By 1993, Ray had successfully completed the Graduate Silva class with Grancognolo, who by that time had become one of the great mentors in his life. And his client list was growing.
Sometime in the late 90's, Ray moved away from practicing Tarot to focus solely on Astrology. With a client list reaching well over 100, Ray continued to hone his talents, and the chart-reading accuracy of
his guidance and predictions continued to rise. As he made a name for himself in astrological circles, he met new practitioners and, through these relationships, found mentors and friends in Linda Gage, another
long-time professional astrologer, and Connie Repoli, a certified hypnotherapist and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) trainer and practitioner.
Eventually, Ray left his job as a graphic designer to focus solely on his
metaphysical work. This was prompted by his desire to serve the people of our ever-increasingly small world by providing them with opportunities for guidance and enlightenment.
When pressed for a more personal motivation, Ray refers to the sad attacks on September 11. "I took a very hard and long look at my life, where I was going, and what it is that I desire to give to humanity,"
Ray confessed. "I feel that there is information in the universe that can help us all to create better lives, and one of those tools is Astrology. With the knowledge that I have, I can give back what I have learned
and feel that I am making a worthwhile contribution to humanity."
Ray's outlook on Tarot, and most particularly on Astrology, is as a tool for our creation and understanding of events in our lives. These tools
are important to anyone who chooses to seek the answers to life's questions and to realize - not just to conceive, but to achieve - the potential in each of us. Information people receive from Astrological
charts can be used to understand life, how we create it, and how to learn from the choices we've made by making better, more insightful, choices in the future. These tools don't exactly provide answers. More
accurately, they provoke questions in the users to better provide themselves with their own answers by reminding them of their past and showing them the potential paths for the future.
Time and again, Astrology has played an important part in Ray's existence. "Astrology helps me to strip away all the excess so I see my life at it's most basic," Ray confesses. "Like a caterpillar creates a
cocoon to transform itself into a butterfly, so I use Astrology to reinvent myself."
Ray uses it as a sort of guidepost on his journey through life. By understanding planetary energy and the aspects of planetary placement
in the heavens, he is able to look into the past at the choices he made that were not necessarily choices that served him, understand why he made the choices he did, and understand what he could do to create a
different situation for himself - a different life - that he might not have considered before but, he discovered, could serve him better and allow him to gain deeper insight into himself. He could more clearly discern
opportunities - choices - ahead of him and then choose the path more befitting the individual he wanted to become.
In March of 2003, Ray chose a path into the world of multimedia in
hopes of serving a larger audience. He created a quarterly newsletter, aptly named Astrology for Tomorrow, in order to better serve both his quest to aide humanity and his desire to grow and transform. His web site (formerly mr-wizard.com) soon followed, providing a resource for
various metaphysical interests and studies for people interested in joining Ray in the search for a deeper understanding of life and oneself.
By October of 2003, radio stations around the world were inviting Ray
to be their guest. Since then, he has been heard in Cork, Ireland (on RedFM 104-106), London, England (BBC 94.9 FM), and across the United States from Burlington, VT (on WVMT AM620), to Fond du
Lac, MI (on KFIZ), to the nationally broadcast shows Erskine Overnight, transmitted out of Phoenix, AZ (on WFNN AM1510) and The Frank DeCaro Show (on Sirius Satellite Radio 106).
On why he enjoys radio interviews: "Astrology is what I love to do, and having the opportunity to interact with others while sharing my expertise on such a grand scale is exciting and fulfilling." Though Ray
is often asked to discuss predictions ranging in topics from celebrities to political figures to the state of economy, he is most gratified to be able to impress on audiences how "Astrology is really a tool to help
one on the path through life and not some disreputable parlor game."
In 2004, Ray ventured into another medium: print. His gifted insight has become a featured commodity in various publications, such as Dell
Horoscope, Spiritual Insider and Inner Realm, where he penned articles on topics including how to create love in your life using Astrology and a retrospect on John Ritter and the astrological aspects that impacted
his life and guided him through his career.
Ray's web site continues to grow in popularity as the number of visitors frequenting the site each month rises. The visitors hail from as
close as his hometown to as far away as Australia. He's able to provide frequent updates on astrological forecasts for the full and new moon. He also charts any current planetary movement, such as Mercury
retrogrades. You can even check out the site to learn when he will next be a featured guest expert on a radio show, to read his most recent or archived celebrity profiles, or even peruse a back issue of his newsletter, Astrology for Tomorrow.
Since going full-time with his Astrology, he is no longer bogged down by the mental strain of work politics. In fact, Ray's talents have become even more intuitive. His mind has opened and he is more
receptive to messages given to him from the Universe. Ray commented on this. "When I make my radio appearances, I ask the callers for two things: their name and birth information. I would use
their astrological data to give them a reading or answer their questions. But in recent years, I find that I am receiving messages from the Universe about them and their future before I even have a moment to
consider the Astrology aspect. This is increasingly becoming the norm for me."
And that is how Ray came to write his book, The Planets Align So Rare: Twelve Dimensions to the Human Potential. "I was in a place of
a high spirit vibration when my muse bestowed upon me the inspiration for this book. This revelation came to me in part because of my desire to create something that would influence humanity through
the realization of the human potential, which resides in each and every human being."
Though Ray is busy getting the word out on The Planets Align So Rare, he has already begun work on his next book, tentatively titled
Prophecies and Potentials: 2010-2012, which he expects to release in the fall of 2008. In fact, Ray chose to write and release The Planets Align So Rare at this time to better prepare humanity for that
2010-2012 timespan. Significant astrological events will be unfolding during that time that will generate unique universal energies. The Planets Align So Rare can provide humanity with a healthier
understanding of itself, and this emotional and spiritual growth will allow humanity to use those unique universal energies in a productive manner for the good of the populous.
Ray's greatest hope is to reach out to the world community with his gift, to help make a positive impact on people's lives, and to help others find the path to a more hopeful future. And with clients spanning the
continent (from New York to Florida to California) and even the globe (including Ireland and Australia), it's apparent that word of his reputation is spreading.
