Midyear Predictions 2008

It seems so obvious that our world is experiencing  a massive transformation. When we  think back to September 11, we are witness to how in an instant the world can  change. And yet we are also aware how it seemingly takes lifetimes for the world - and Humanity- to transform. This year began a massive transformation of government and  governmental structure, which I foresee as the transition into a World  Government. This transformation will, of course, be dependant upon humanity's  progression of itself as a spiritually centered and connected civilization, and  this shift is not something that will happen overnight. This transition may  unfold in the coming years, or it may take one hundred years. As always, the  choice is ours. However, I do believe the Universe now strongly suggests we  choose a higher level of consciousness, which will benefit humanity, rather than  just one's self, regardless of who we are and the position we occupy - at the personal  and professional level - as part of the Whole of Humanity.

On January 25 of this year, Pluto entered  Capricorn and will remain in the 10th sign of the Zodiac until  November 20, 2024, when he moves full-throttle into Aquarius. The last time that  Pluto visited this Saturn-ruled sign was back in 1776, when the Declaration of  Independence was created! Pluto's transition into Capricorn is also significant  in that the United States will experience its first Pluto return! (A planet's  return in a chart is when it comes back to the exact position it occupied at the  moment the chart was cast, marking the end of one cycle and the beginning of a  new one.) The return of Pluto will not be exact until 2022; however, now is the  beginning for a powerful government restructuring for the United States, as well  as in other countries. For the U.S., the culmination of these energies will be  during the time of its Pluto return.

I feel that in the U.S. this shift will eventually  be very profound; this may include the beginning of the end of a bipartisan  government, for this bipartisan manner of government contradicts the united  we stand philosophy and amplifies the divide we fall reality. In my  opinion, if we remain in this bipartisan condition, we will demonstrate  ourselves as divided and surely we will eventually collapse. When we  collectively move to the place of oneness, we will observe that when we are  divided in the aforesaid manner, we reveal our limited and somewhat primitive  thought process. Our innate Oneness of our Universal composition can never be  divided. As we move closer to this profound awareness, we will move closer to  the reality of knowing our collective selves as One.

The challenge of these past years here in the  United States, more than ever since September 11, presents the continuation of a  wake-up call for the people of this country. This time is an opportunity for the  people of the U.S. to stand up and be heard, to have the courage to express our  own voice with compassion and humility, and with conviction and determination to  abandon those issues that no longer serve a greater purpose, such as a war that  seems to never end. On that note, I do not see the Iraq conflict coming  to an end in 2008. The end of the war may begin to come to pass in 2009  with the advent of our new President. [For the record, I am a registered  independent.]

    Regarding the 2008 Presidential  Election

      For John McCain:

Because of the Universal energy shifts that are  taking place at the planetary level, the United States will be served well to  have a president who displays Humanitarian concerns; Senator John McCain could  very well be this President. His astrological power potential radiating from  Pluto in his 10th house indicates a very strong willpower and determination to  succeed. He may well have a sense of knowing that he is going to win this  election. If his intentions are genuine, he can be a powerful and influential  leader, not only politically, but on a spiritual-not religious-level. If he  chooses to tap into this potential, he can be a very unique political leader. On  the matters of spirituality, he must take care not to seem too pious, for  anything too intense on a spiritual level could backfire on him.

      For Barack Obama:

My primary concern about Senator Barack Obama is  that he may not be who he appears to be or what he says he represents. His own  self-deception may be the cause of his demise. This trait comes from a difficult  aspect to his Sun from Neptune; the planet of illusion, deception and  self-undoing. If other factors in his chart were to offset this seemingly  undesirable aspect, he could potentially be extremely intuitive when it comes to  knowing what needs to be done for the country. I think his own demons may  prevent him from doing so. Another note of interest, this Neptunian influence  has demonstrated itself clearly with the recent scandal in the media. He must be  very careful who he chooses as a Spiritual/ Religious leader. If he is not  careful, he can be easily mislead by those in high spiritual places.

A quality that may not be evident at this time is  a potential for him to be too pretentious when it comes to dealing with the  public. If he were to be elected president, he would find it challenging to deal  with others in government positions, especially those in Congress. He would find  working with them to be too much of a compromise where his beliefs and motives  are concerned.

     A few additional points:

     * Here in the Northern Hemisphere, we have the  summer solstice on June 20 at 8:00 p.m., EDT; the chart cast at the time of the  solstice is rather volatile. We are in for a turbulent ride during the summer  months here in the United States: fuel costs and the state of the economy will  continue to be our greatest concern and challenge. I do feel, however, that some  relief will come for both these issues in late October. Also, the 2008 hurricane  season may be another for the record books.

      * The U.S. economy will continue to ride on  unstable ground, though I feel the U.S. will not necessarily fall into an  all-out recession. We will notice a boost in economic growth in the fall, and  more than likely the public will not see the economy begin to fully  bounce back until 2009.

    * There will be some sort of scandal rising from  the Church of Scientology. This will signify the beginning of the fall of this  organization.

     * We will notice Pope Benedict making some  additional radical changes in the Catholic Church, as he did in March of this  year with his declaration of what he claimed to be the SevenNew  Deadly Sins. He may find himself becoming much too pretentious for his own  good, with this likely manifesting during December of this year and into January  2009. He will continue to use topical, global conditions such as global warming  as a means to self-serving ends rather than humanitarian, at least in my  opinion. I also foresee him experiencing an unexpected health crisis during that  time.

     * During the October and/or mid-November time  period, we may see scandalous reports that President Bush is again facing  challenges with alcohol addiction. There may even be reports of a sex scandal  surrounding the leader of the free world and that his home life may not be as  picturesque as it may seem.

     We shall see.
